Wild and Free
This painting combines my love of the performing arts with my love of my home state. Inspired by a photo of the North Dakota Badlands landscape taken by my friend Mike Bruner, the element of the ballerina sprang from my imagination.
Wild and Free was born!
Don't you just love how the color of the sky complements the color of her tutu? And how among the rugged terrain, she found a place to strike a perfect on pointe pose?
The combination of the ruggedness of the terrain with the unexpected sighting of a beautiful ballerina makes for a delicious contrast.
