Butte-i-ful View

Butte-i-ful View.jpg

Description:

Nothing says North Dakota Badlands like bison grazing peacefully in the foothills of the scenic buttes that make up the landscape of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

Even though I grew up in the state, it still feels like a pleasant surprise when I drive west from the rolling farmland region that makes up a good portion of the state and enter the Badlands. Suddenly you feel like you're in a different world. But it's all part of North Dakota, and all so beautiful!

This painting has many layers of texture as I strove to capture the feel of the terrain and the vegetation of the region.
